An 89th Birthday Party!

Today we went to celebrate Grandma Bernice's 89th Birthday! Grandma Karma, Papa Mike, Patty, James, Barrie Jo, Uncle Chris, and Charlotte were all there. We we missing Allison and Clara, but hope to see them again soon. We ate lunch together (and cake!) and then went to Grandma's house to take pictures and hang out for a little bit.It was a fun afternoon!

Calla and Baby Charlotte! "Her cousin!"

Grandma Bernice and two great granddaughters!

The Boy's and their daughters!

So, we have lived here 4 years and every year this burning bush will have about 10 leaves that turn red before they all fall off. This year (hopefully our last here!) it has decided to turn a beautiful shade of reddish orange before it shed all of its leaves!

Fall Break!!

Today I am on Fall Break and we are celebrating our 2nd snowfall of the Autumn!?!?

Last Saturday we went to another parade and then our friends came over to watch the Huskers. Calla did not have time for a nap. This was her at 7:15 that night on the living room floor!

Last night she wanted to watch "the Candy Movie!" with Daddy. This is what I found when I went to the living room. :)

On the way home from daycare yesterday we decided we wanted to make cookies today. We stopped at Hobby Lobby to get some pumpkin cookie cutters. This morning we whipped up some batter and rolled them out. Calla loved helping!

She really wanted to put the sprinkles on! Calla held the sprinkles up and the cookie and said "Mama, take my picture!"

Check out her tongue while applying sprinkles!

She is so determined!

Finished product!
When we were done she asked, "Now is it Halloween?" I had to tell her one more week! She is SO EXCITED to have Halloween!

Snow!?!?

Yesterday we celebrated our first snowfall of the season! We had told Calla earlier in the week that it might snow on the weekend. From then on, she was telling everyone that she was going to make a snowman when it snowed. We really thought it would snow just a dusting and we would not be able to make a snowman.

Well, when Calla woke up Saturday morning she had been looking out her window by her bed and was yelling at me, "Mama, I go outside and make a snowman!" It was 7:30 at this point so I told her we had to wait a little bit! We had about 2 inches and it was still snowing! About 9:30 we found our winter clothing and went outside.

She had so much fun running around, learning how to make snow angels, throwing snow at Mommy, and brushing snow off of everything in our yard! I could not get the snow to stick together enough to make a snowman so I was going to make a snow blob and Calla decided it would be more fun to knock it down. HA!

This is a pic of my mums from Friday evening...they were gorgeous!

Here is Calla posing with her pumpkin before the hockey game on Friday evening. Friday, it was about 55 degrees here!

Getting ready to go outside!

Collecting snow to put on the slide. She thought it was so fun to cover the slide with snow and then go down.

Brushing snow off of the sandbox.

All done!

A Love Story on a White Horse

We have been to 2 different parades during the last two weekends and Calla is hooked! She enjoys dancing to the bands, watching the flags, and of course...getting lots of candy!

She also has an obsession with Taylor Swift, thanks to Burlynn! The video is her singing mostly White Horse, but then at the very end she adds a little Love Story. She cracks us up!

Today her friend Elly celebrated her 2nd birthday, complete with pony rides. All of the kids had a wonderful time and Calla thinks she should have horses at her party. Not likely in February!
