32 Weeks

I went to see my regular dr. today for my 32 week checkup. Everything is measuring right where it should and the heartbeat was 148 bpm. I lost 4 pounds...so I told the dr. that I have had 3 Christmas's so this should not have happened, but dr. was not concerned. Dr. says that since everything is measuring where it should be the baby is getting all the nutrients it needs to thrive. I go back in 2 weeks to see the dr. and in three weeks to have another ultrasound. Sorry that I have not posted a picture for a few weeks. Here is one from today at 32 weeks exactly. I definately have more of a belly now than before! Hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and that your New Year is grand too!

29 weeks

Well...we went to the Dr. today for our ultrasound and things still look pretty much the same. My dr. that I was supposed to see got called to the hospital right before she came in so we saw a different fellow. It was kind of interesting to get the opinion of another dr. on the whole situation. He showed us that the placenta is still partially covering the cervix and that we need to come back at 35 weeks for another ultrasound and will decide what to do from there. It was also his suggestion that a c-section is the only safe route to go. Just told me to keep taking it easy and to let the dr. know if there was any unsual cramping or bleeding...like I wouldn't do that anyways!!!
I see my regular dr. next week again so we will see what her take is on things and where we stand in her opinion! It is so interesting to me that I see 4 different dr.'s and they all are very well respected in town and very knowledgeable, but yet have different opinions on what is the 'best' route to take for my situation!

28 weeks

Here is a picture of my in between 28 and 29 weeks! I had not posted a pic for a few weeks so I thought I should share my growing baby belly! I am wearing a maternity shirt with my regular size pants. I have some maternity pants that I wear somedays, but most of my others still fit so I wear them too! We have our next ultrasound this week so I will share that news after we receive it. Have a great day!

The Room

Chad and I finally have the room where we want to show it off!! Over the last few weeks we have found different things to add to help make it look a little more like we want it to be. We bought our travel system today and Chad put it all together. It is so nice to have that purchase done!!
We go to the dr. again next week for our 6th ultrasound to check on the placenta's placement...we are hoping that it has finally decided to move just a bit.
The curtains are not done yet, but other than that I think that the room is ready to go! Hope you all have a great week!

26 Weeks

Had another dr. appointment yesterday with my regular dr. I gained four pounds...yeah!!!! Baby's heartbeat was right around 150 beats per minute...which seems to be pretty normal for this child.
She is not all that concerned with the placenta being low and stated that they would probably take baby one week early, not four like the other dr. was thinking...so who knows!?!?!? She just told me that I should be careful with my lifting and anything over 20 pounds is too much right now. I tried to get her to restrict my cooking, cleaning, and laundry, but she didn't really think that was necessary! :) Maybe next month I can convince her of that!
I managed to drink all of the liquid for the gestational diabetes test and did not vomit...I was concerned b/c it was the only thing I could eat/drink yesterday morning and I had heard how horrible it tasted. Still waiting on the results from that! I go back to see her again in four weeks!
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Update--25 Weeks

Chad and I had another ultrasound today to check on the progress of the placenta. It is still laying low and we go back in four weeks for another ultrasound to check on its movement. Dr. says at this point more than likely the placenta will not move and so we will be having a c-section a few weeks before the due date. We got to see all four chambers of the heart today...talk about making this a reality!!
Baby is measuring right where it should be and weighs a little over a pound currently. Baby has moved and is now head down so that was a welcome change from last time. The pictures are hard to see because baby is bigger now so sorry I have none to put on this time! I am still feeling great and can't wait to meet my little warrior in only a few months!! Peace out.

In between weeks 24 and 25

The top picture is from this weekend! I am 24 weeks along and I am slowly gaining a baby belly! The bottom picture is from this weekend. Chad and I went to my friend Amanda's wedding in Iowa and had a good time.
I am still feeling pretty good. Some nights I have some not so nice leg cramps, but I just deal with them and get back to bed ASAP. We have another ultrasound this week, so we will see what the Dr. has to say. Baby is still really low, but the kicks are much stronger than four weeks ago so I would say that baby is definately growing well! Have a great week!

Week 22

The picture is not the best, but you can see that I have got a little more of a belly this week. I went to the dr. today and have FINALLY gained some weight. I am now over the weight of where I started from...yea!!! My regular dr. was not concerned with the little weight gain since I was not skinny to begin with. She had a patient last month that gained 7 lbs total and had a 10lb baby...it just happens!!! Baby moves around quite a bit and I feel it the most in the evenings. The heartbeat today was 151 beats per minute and that is always so nice to hear that sound!! I go back for my regular appointment in four weeks, but I have my ultrasound before that so it won't seem like such a long time. The room will hopefully be finished this weekend, and we can then finish putting the crib together. Have a great weekend!!

Preparing the room!!

HOCKEY HAS FINALLY STARTED AGAIN!!! Last night was our first home game...they lost, but looked really good and seemed to communicate well! We are off to another game tonight and are so glad to have some sports to watch again!!

Last weekend I had finally decided on some bedding and Chad liked it to, so we ordered it! We were not positive on the exact colors of it, but had decided that we wanted the room to be a really light shade of blue with about a one foot strip of white at the very top. We decided to add the white because we think it will help the room look a bit bigger. (We seem to be adding lots of furniture and the room keeps getting smaller!?) The bedding arrived this week and we both really like it. It is very simple, but cute! We also bought our bed last weekend and currently it is riding around in the back of Chad's car! Hopefully by tomorrow night we can move it inside!!!
We had nothing besides hockey this weekend so decided it was the perfect time to paint.
As you can see from the pictures the room was a very bright shade of blue to start with so we knew it would take two coats to cover it all up, but that's ok. I have also included a picture of the bedding so you all can see it! We are going to add some little metal stars to the wall to help pull it all together! It seems really early to be getting this all finished, but with three holidays coming up the next couple months we just knew we had to use our time well!
Hope you all have a great weekend! GO HUSKERS AND STORM!!!!!

11 Oct 2006--Ultrasound Results

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA BRYAN!!!!

Chad and I went in for our 20 week ultrasound this morning and everything looks pretty good!! We got to see the spine, the thigh, a foot, the brain, and the heart. We also got a nice shot of the arm and elbow. Baby is sitting really low right now and is breech...so I will go back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound. I lost more weight and dr. said that if I lost more between visits they will check my thyroid to see if it is causing problems. I told Chad that I am not going to let them remove it after birth if it is causing weight loss...why is weight loss a problem???? It's not to me!!! Dr. also stated that if I only gain 20lbs total that will be enough nourishment for the baby!
Baby is measuring a week behind the due date, but as long as it continues to grow, there are no concerns with that. My computer with the scanner is not hooked up to the internet currently so I will try to scan pics later to post...both of the ultrasound and me! I have a little more of a belly now then before so I was really hopeful that I had actually gained some weight...dr. said to start eating more high calorie snacks...like ice cream! Who wouldn't like to hear that!!?!?

This was our ultrasound picture from 15 August...it will be interesting to see how much has changed in two months time! I will post a picture as soon as I have one on Wednesday!!

6 October 2006--20 weeks

Hard to believe that we have already hit the halfway point in this pregnancy! I have been feeling really well and stayed home from work today (PTO!!) in order to clean house and get the room a little closer to looking like a baby room!! I have almost everything out of it and now just have to decide on bedding and a crib...it is so hard. After I decide on those then I will have to decide which color to paint the room...hopefully my mom will come up and help with that!
I really don't want to do the whole theme thing because I just think it is too overwhelming for baby...so I am just looking for something very easy on the eyes and in neutral colors. I raided my niece Burlynn's closet a few weeks ago and have some little diapers and a few sleepers so I am slowly getting a few things! I have included a picture of Shane and Burlynn from a few weeks ago. We LOVE that little girl and hope that our baby is as good as she is.
On Wednesday I go back in for another ultrasound and we can hardly wait to see baby again. We have decided that we are not going to find out the gender. We believe that it is a great surprise in life and even with modern day medical abilities we still like the idea of being surprised!!
